Welcome to India (again)

Well, I successfully travelled from Detroit to Chennai once again. Have I mentioned to you all how far away India really is? So you are going like 500-600 MPH and it still takes 18 hours... ugh. I am in my temporary living hotel room - a place called the Lemontree. Not quite as nice as the one we stayed in on the pre-assignment trip, but it will do just fine as it has a good shower, good bed and good A/C. I brought a camera so I could post pictures, but I don't have the right cable/card reader with me, so I'll have to try to pick one up, maybe today if I can. The hotel people failed to pick me up at the airport last night, so I had to negotiate my own taxi... it was interesting as there are guys who just hang aroung outside the airport, trying to "help" you, and they are super aggressive etc... Well, I ended up letting this guy help, but he was expecting a "US sized" tip (like maybe $5), and he got more of an "Indian sized" tip (more like 50 cents), so he was not especially happy. I think as an American, you should get some kind of tatoo or something that says "I live here -- please don't try to rip me off". :-)
